The Wound Care Center® at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital

Expert Care For Non-Healing Wounds

Coping with chronic, non-healing wounds can be both frustrating and time-consuming, but expert care is available to help improve healing and your quality of life. At the Wound Care Center®, our professional staff, led by Dr. Luedeke and Dr. Bryant, are highly trained in the specialized, comprehensive care of problem wounds, using the most up-to-date approaches in the science of wound care.

Your Physician Is Part Of Our Team

The treatment you receive at the Wound Care Center is designed to complement the care your own physician provides, ensuring that your healthcare team is always working together to provide the treatment that's right for you. Your physician participates in developing your treatment plan and is kept informed of your progress every step of the way. Your team at the Wound Care Center includes physicians with advanced wound care training, nurses trained in the care of chronic wounds and experienced technicians and staff.

"They're very knowledgeable. They're very caring.

And their expertise is just unbelievable."

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

To help in your healing, you may be referred for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a simple but effective treatment in which you breathe pure oxygen inside a pressurized chamber.

The chamber has clear sides through which you can see your surroundings, and is in a comfortable treatment room equipped with TV and videos. The therapy quickly and safely delivers high concentrations of oxygen to your bloodstream, which helps increase your body's own natural wound-healing abilities.

Treatment Tailored To Your Needs

Because every patient's wound is unique, you will have a thorough diagnostic exam to identify the type of wound you have and its underlying causes. A program specifically tailored to your needs will be started based on the most effective approach, which may include:

  1. Vascular evaluation
  2. Debridement
  3. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  4. Laboratory evaluation
  5. Infectious disease management
  6. Physical therapy
  7. Nutritional management
  8. Pain management
  9. Diabetic education
  10. Nuclear medicine
  11. Radiology

Our staff will set up regular appointments for your visits to the Wound Care Center and give you all of the information you need to take care of your wound at home between visits. Keeping your appointments and following wound care instructions are essential to healing your wound, so let us know whenever you have questions about your treatment plan.

"The Wound Care Center saved my leg.

But they did more than that; they saved my life."
