When You Can't See Your Doctor, But Don't Need a Hospital

GRAND LAKE HEALTH SYSTEM™ offers an Urgent Care facility at Joint Township Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio. This Urgent Care extends your access to total quality healthcare. It’s an after-hours treatment center – treating minor illnesses and injuries which can't wait for a doctor’s appointment but which don’t require the services of a hospital emergency room.

Not only do you get extended access to quality care, but you also receive that care conveniently, quickly, affordably and from professional staff who help assure peace of mind for you and your family.

Quality Targeted Service

Urgent Care facilities are the ideal alternative blend between a doctor’s visit and the ER. Urgent Care applies the appropriate cost to the needed level of care.

“As a community commitment, Urgent Care promises convenient, affordable treatment.”

Urgent Care offers: assessment and complete care for non-life threatening problems; fracture care (splinting); full range of diagnostic imaging including CT scan; laboratory testing, employee health services, and wellness services (school and sports physicals).

Each patient will be greeted upon arrival to assess medical needs and expedite the care process.

Urgent Vs. Emergency

Just as you shouldn’t make a doctor’s appointment for persistent chest pain or severe bleeding, neither should you visit an urgent care facility for these symptoms. Urgent Care is ideal for patients who need care for minor illnesses and injuries during hours when their doctor’s office is closed. It’s important to understand the difference. Here are examples of emergency symptoms – or when not to visit Urgent Care.

  • Signs of heart attack that last 2 minutes or longer, including chest pain
  • Signs of stroke, like sudden onset of numbness in the arms or legs
  • Severe shortness of breath
  • Bleeding that won’t stop after 10 minutes of direct pressure
  • Poisoning
  • Complicated fractures or broken bones
  • Major injury such as head injury
  • Coughing up or vomiting blood
  • Suicidal or homicidal feelings

Billing And Payment

Our Urgent Care Centers require a copy of your current insurance card at the time of service. Insurance co-pays will be collected up front.

Our Urgent Care Centers do not refuse care to anyone. If you do not have health insurance or need help with payment, please let our staff know.

The amount you pay for your urgent care visit will depend on your insurance plan and the treatment you receive. You may expect to see physician fees, fees for hospital care, or fees for other services. Your co-payment is due at the time of your visit.
