James D. Luedeke, M.D. - Bio

James D. Luedeke, M.D., received his undergraduate degree in biology/pre-med from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio and his Master of Arts in science education from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Luedeke is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  Before joining the Grand Lake Health System staff, Dr. Luedeke spent 30 years as a family physician at Southland Family Medicine Associates in New Bremen, Ohio. He also spent time educating medical students at both the Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine and Wright State University College of Medicine. Dr. Luedeke enjoys educating his patients to help them to make positive lifestyle choices to better their health and listening to their needs and concerns to provide them with the highest quality care possible.

A native of New Bremen, Dr. Luedeke has grown up in the Grand Lake region, graduating from New Bremen High School (NBHS) in 1972. He and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for 37 years and have three children and three grandchildren. Dr. Luedeke is an active member of the community: he is a charter member of the New Bremen – New Knoxville Rotary Club, and a volunteer at Beulah Beach Bible and Missionary Camp. Dr. Luedeke is a past member of the New Bremen School Board and served 25 years as the football team physician at NBHS. 

In his free time, he enjoys working on home landscaping projects, watching and participating in a variety of sports, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes.
